I DID IT! :D

Microsoft Word gives my word count as 50,027 words. However, I take what the NaNo site gives as my word count as the official one. So therefore, during NaNoWriMo 2007, I have officially written 50,260 words - the most I have ever written during November. :D The proof is on my NaNo profile, located here.

I am so fucking proud of myself right now. I think I deserve some sort of reward for finally making the trifecta, after two years of trying - this is quite possibly the most amazing feeling in the world. :D

My novel is, quite admittedly, a mess, but I'm not going to worry about fixing it yet. I want to put it away until at least January, so I can get cracking on Until The Twelfth Of Never, and fix it up then. And after that I'm going to finish the sucker.

Tonight, I am not going to worry about trying to make my 50K by 11:45pm. I am going to go to my Formal and have a ball, and then I am going to come home and put my Formal photos online, and then I'll get stuck back into some of my other fiction work. I need to work on something else - my offseason novels are looking sadly neglected!

I'm nearly there! :D

I hit 40K about half an hour or so ago. I haven't got this far since 2004! :D

I realise I haven't posted much output. Fact of the matter is, I've been utterly preoccupied with today's interview - that, and I've had the toothache from motherfucking hell all weekend. I figure if I can write 2500 more words today, and then write 2.5K each on Tuesday to Thursday, I'll have my 50K, and when I get home from the Formal on Friday night I can write a bit more before verifying my masterpiece, just in case the validator tries to lop off a couple thousand. As it is, it's actually been adding 180 words each time I update my word count on the site by copying and pasting from Word, but horror stories are starting to trickle in.

I promise that once this interview is over and done with, posting of output will resume. :) And I've already decided on my reward for reaching 50K - a third set of ear piercings. I haven't had my ears pierced in a good four years, so I reckon I'm overdue. ;)

I had a particularly bad writing day yesterday. I basically allowed myself to get distracted. :/ I did hit 25K early on, though - not bad for 12 days of writing!

I think today's low word count means I need to take a short break from writing. Entirely aside from needing to find all my books, I am 5,598 words ahead. I think I deserve a break. ;)

Thought it was fair to let you all know that no NaNo output of any description will be posted for a good 24 hours. I haven't written a thing all day - and no, I haven't given up on Tuesday's Child. Fact is that I have my final HSC exam tomorrow afternoon, for Drama, and I've spent all day studying. I've also got a bad toothache and earache, and concentrating on my writing is nigh impossible when I'm dosed up on painkillers. Plus I thought I deserved something of a break - put it this way, I've written nearly 19,000 words in the past week, more than I've ever written in the opening week of NaNo. I'm ahead, and that's all I need to worry about for now. I promise a decent-sized update just after midnight Saturday. :)

For some reason it was a lot harder to get the words out yesterday. I think it's because exams are just about over - I'm starting to really feel a lot of pressure. Doesn't much help that my mother sees my Drama exam as my most important exam after my English exams...
